Location data is used to determine presence in a specific place and time. You control when you check in and may stop sharing presence at any time.
1.3 Content You Provide
You may submit content such as:

- reactions,
- other inputs related to Buzz, presence, or profile.
Content on SkipTheChase may be either ephemeral or persistent, depending on the feature and context in which it is shared.
- Some content is designed to be temporary and automatically removed.
- Other content may persist as part of your account, profile, or history.
The Service does not guarantee that any content will be visible indefinitely.
1.4 Interaction Signals
We may collect signals related to:
- waves,
- chats,
- meeting intent,
- participation in Buzz.
These signals are used to enable features, enforce limits, and protect platform integrity.
1.5 Technical Information
We may collect limited technical data such as:
- device type,
- operating system,
- IP address,
- basic usage logs.
This information is used for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- provide and operate the Service,
- determine presence and visibility in places,
- enable Buzz, waves, chats, and meetings,
- support persistent user features where applicable,
- prevent abuse and misuse,
- monitor performance and reliability,

We do not sell personal data.
3. Visibility & Sharing of Information
3.1 Presence Visibility
When you check in:
- other users in the same place may see limited information about you,
- visibility depends on context (e.g. co-presence, interaction state).
Information shared is intentionally limited and contextual.
3.2 Content Visibility
Content you share may be visible to:
- users in the same place,
- users you interact with,
- or only to you,
depending on the feature and your actions. Some content is designed for short-term visibility, while other content may persist.
3.3 Private Information
Certain information is never intended to be public, including:
- authentication credentials,
- private account identifiers,
- internal interaction metadata.
4. Ephemeral vs Persistent Content
SkipTheChase supports both ephemeral and persistent content.
Ephemeral Content
Some features are designed to be temporary, including:
- check-ins,
- venue-specific Buzz,
- short-lived presence indicators.
Ephemeral content may be automatically deleted or become inaccessible after a limited period.
Persistent Content
Other content may be stored longer, including:
- account-related data,
- profile information,
- interaction history,
- content explicitly designed to persist.
Persistent content may remain associated with your account unless deleted by you or removed by us.
5. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary to:
- operate the Service,
- support user features,
- ensure security and integrity,
- comply with legal requirements.
Some data may be retained in backups or logs for a limited period after deletion.
