Welcome to SkipTheChase (“SkipTheChase”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By accessing or using the SkipTheChase mobile application and related services (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What SkipTheChase Is (and Is Not)
SkipTheChase is a presence-based social application that allows users to:
- check in to physical locations,
- view others who are present,
- participate in venue-specific buzz,
- express interest via waves,
- optionally chat and meet in person.
SkipTheChase is not:
- a dating service,
- a matchmaking service,
- a guarantee of interaction, connection, or safety.
All interactions are voluntary and occur at users’ own discretion.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using SkipTheChase, you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Your Account & Conduct
You are responsible for your account and for your conduct on the Service. You agree not to:
- violate any applicable laws or these Terms,
- harass, abuse, or harm others,
- impersonate any person or entity,
- use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose,
- interfere with or disrupt the Service or others’ use of it.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms.
4. Presence, Check-ins & Visibility
When you check in, you choose to make your presence visible in that place. Other users in the same place may see limited information about you as described in our Privacy Policy. You can stop sharing presence at any time.
5. Content You Submit
You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content, you grant us a license to use, store, and display it as needed to operate the Service. Some content may be ephemeral (temporary); other content may persist as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not guarantee that any content will be stored or visible indefinitely.
6. Intellectual Property
SkipTheChase and its branding, design, and technology are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or exploit our intellectual property without permission.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or safe. You use the Service at your own risk. We are not responsible for the conduct of users or for any interactions, meetings, or outcomes that result from using the Service.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SkipTheChase and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
9. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may change the Service or these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes to the Terms, we will update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable laws, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
